Christmas quilts can add a wonderful festive feeling to bedrooms during the holiday season so don’t limit your decorating to the living areas. Two of my grandchildren, Isabella and Dominic love the holidays and Christmas quilts for them seemed like a perfect excuse to make MORE quilts!!
Isabella has a pink striped upholstered headboard and footboard in her room so I used a Christmas fabric that had pink, lime green and turquoise in it called Hip Holidays by Henry Glass. It was last year’s collection but I found it here if you want to pick some up.
I used more traditional Christmas colors for Dominic – the Snow Man panel from the Makin New Friends collection by Moda is perfect. I cut up the panel into blocks and then used coordinating fabrics along with more Christmas prints from my stash to come up with the quilt design. It’s last year’s collection from my stash as well but the link will take you to a shop that still has some left.
And at my daughter-in-law’s request, I made another quilt using the Snow Man panel for her godson and nephew Sebastian. He has a queen size quilt so it had to be bigger but I used the same idea of mixing Christmas fabrics with the Snowman panel squares. (Linked with Quiltstory)
I have 6 sewing evenings and a weekend left until Christmas if I remove the days with scheduled holiday parties and other committments. There are still lots of projects to finish but I’m enjoying all of them despite the pressure of the time crunch. Some day I will start sooner …………
Thanks for checking in.
