I found a lovely new blog with a great project for 2013 – A Lovely Year of Finishes. The blog is Fiber of All Sorts. The concept is simple -choose one project every month that you are going to complete in that month. Since my WIP and UFO projects are growing instead of shrinking as planned, I definitely decided to hop on this train. More incentive – just what I need. So here goes! I added their button to my blog so I’m committed!
My February Finish project is my Kaffe Bordered Diamonds quilt. I blogged about it here and here.
I completed the top last fall and managed to get it sent out to my long arm quilter in November. This quilt was WAY too big for me to try on my home machine despite working on my FMQ skills. Heidi was buried for the holidays so I told her I didn’t need it back until January. I got it back a few weeks ago -folded it up and put it in my “stack”. Many other projects took precedence. All I need to do is trim, it and bind it! But as an over sized queen quilt with crazy angled sides, it’s going to be a challenge. But now I’m committed!
I’m in linking to “A Year of Lovely Finishes” At Fiber of All Sorts. Check out the impressive projects in the works.
Thanks for checking in.

Hi Irelle, I’m curious. What pattern(s) did Heidi use to quilt your Kaffe? Can you shoot a few closeups of it? I need to do mine and am interested in what others are doing for this project. I know yours will be a sight to behold! I can’t be at the Feb. guild meeting, so if you share it there, I won’t be a ble to see it. Darn! Take care, Bonnie
Good luck trimming and binding! The quilt is truly gorgeous!
